Zoom H1 ReviewThe Zoom H1 recorder conveys a different gist to the world portability. Zoom has modeled a petite and nifty digital recorder that can easily slip into ones pocket.

The small size does not compromise the pragmatism of the recorder, it is powerful and has superior microphone that can record anything seamlessly. It can be used anywhere, from concerts, lectures, conferences, seminars, name it.

The in -built X/Y microphone system, that is comprised of a pair of microphones arranged at an angle of 90 degrees offers an excellent mode of large area coverage whilst recording with high precision and clarity. The Zoom is a bit versatile as it has an exterior plug that you can attach a pair of external microphones to capture supplementary recording.

The multipurpose nature of the Zoom is further underlined by the fact that two tracks can be recorded at the same time. The recorder comes with a speaker that transforms into a great acoustic experience. One can enjoy personalized recordings using headphones, thanks to the in-built headphone socket or opt to use an adapter.

The H1 is only capable of capturing files in basically two modes, the WAV and the MP3. The main distinction between this two files is that, the WAV contains uncompressed files i.e. has all recordings devoid of any files being extracted while the MP3 files are smaller in nature hence easy to upload since some of the data has been extracted before storage.

Zoom H1 Accessory PackThe WAV files supported are 24 bit/96 kHz. The files are usually dated and accompanied by time of recording. The data is stored in a 2GB micro SD and microSDHC cards which can support up to 32 gigabytes.

A single AA battery is used for power. The battery can last up to 10 hours even on nonstop recording. One can also use an AD-17 AC adapter for power.

The Zoom H1 has ensured that it takes recording a notch higher. The free download warrants for Steinberg and WaveLab LE is an added bonus to the cheaply priced recorder. At only $99 you will be able to enjoy and relish the superior quality of output you get.
